The Fiat Tipo 2 was built by Fiat between 1910 and 1920, initially also called Fiat 15-20 HP. Designed on the basis of the Tipo 1, it was produced in two series and in different versions.
The first series, built from 1910 to 1911 in 908 units, was fitted with a four-cylinder engine of 2612 cm³ of displacement and delivered a power of 20 hp. The ignition is by magneto, while the brakes are of the type with pedal control, which acted on the drive shaft and not on the wheels.
The transmission is a cardan joint and the 4-speed gearbox + reverse with side lever control.
It reaches a maximum speed of 70 km/h with an average consumption of 15 liters of petrol every 100 km.
The Tipo 2B was the first car adopted by the Royal Italian Army for use in the Italo-Turkish war of 1911 and was the first car officially used in a war conflict.
The second series "Type 2B" was presented in 1912, with an increase in engine capacity to 2814 cm³ and with a power of 26-28 hp.
It was also possible to buy only the chassis from Fiat to be bodied later with versions as desired by the buyer.
